Maryland and Prince George’s County sits on the front line of climate chaos, yet Congress still shovels billions to oil and gas. Pass Medicare for All. Zero premiums, zero copays, and no network traps. Negotiate drug prices, expand mental and dental coverage, and treat reproductive care as basic care. Private insurers had decades to fleece us; time is up.

Healthcare for All	

Our government doesn't work for us. Elon Musk spent millions trying to buy a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat and funneled hundreds of millions into a presidential election. Donald Trump is busy consolidating power, weaponizing the government, and brazenly enriching himself through crypto schemes and foreign deals. Corporate PACs buy influence, lawmakers cash in on insider tips, and billionaires like them siphon power from the people. Democracy shouldn't be for sale to the highest bidder.<h4>The plan</h4><ol><li>Publicly funded elections<ul><li>Dollar-for-dollar public matching on the first $200 from small donors.</li><li>Outlaw corporate PAC and Super-PAC money once Citizens United is overturned; until then, cap transfers and slap a “sin fee” (see Phase One funding).</li></ul></li><li>Ban congressional stock trading<ul><li>Members, spouses, and senior staff must divest or put assets in true blind trusts. Government That Delivers	

The United States has spent decades destabilizing other countries, then punishing the people who flee the fallout. Families are caged. Asylum seekers are criminalized. Workers are exploited in silence. In Prince George’s County, immigrants are neighbors, co-workers, parents, and students, but they are treated like bargaining chips by politicians who feed fear for power.A just immigration system doesn’t start with walls or raids. It starts with humanity, legal protection, and a fair path to belonging.<h4>The Plan</h4>1. Legal status and a path to citizenship<ul><li>Create an eight-year path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants who pass background checks and pay taxes.</li><li>Expand DACA and TPS with automatic renewals and legal pathways to permanent residency.</li><li>End the three- and ten-year reentry bars that keep families separated for decades.</li></ul>2. Humane border and asylum policy<ul><li>Restore and expand asylum protections, including for people fleeing political violence, climate disasters, and gender-based harm.</li><li>Repeal Title 42 and other Trump-era asylum bans.</li><li>Process asylum claims efficiently and fairly, with full legal representation and non-carceral housing options.</li></ul>3. End detention profiteering<ul><li>Ban for-profit immigration detention centers.</li><li>Impose a strict 72-hour limit on family separations and child detentions.</li><li>Fund community-based alternatives to detention that respect human rights and due process.</li></ul>4. Strengthen worker protections<ul><li>Create a universal work authorization registry that protects undocumented workers from wage theft and employer abuse.</li><li>Expand U-visas and whistleblower protections for immigrant workers who report labor violations.</li><li>End I-9 raids and workplace crackdowns that punish workers instead of exploitative employers.</li></ul>5. Keep ICE out — and in full view when they’re forced in<ul><li>End 287(g) deputization. Local police should keep communities safe, not funnel neighbors into detention.</li><li>Raid-free safety zones. No ICE operations near schools, hospitals, courthouses, or houses of worship.</li><li>Warrants for data. DMV, utility, and school records stay sealed unless ICE shows a judge-signed warrant.</li><li>Full-badge transparency. Agents in the field must display a readable name plate and badge number, wear bodycams, and present warrants in the language spoken in the home. No masks, no anonymity, no exceptions (medical PPE aside).</li><li>Body-cam mandate + public log. If local police have to wear cameras, federal immigration agents do too. Footage is logged the same day, timestamped, and reviewable by an independent civilian board.</li></ul>If you carry a federal badge, you don’t get to hide behind it—and you definitely don’t get to terrorize our communities.6. Fix the legal immigration backlog<ul><li>Modernize the green card and visa system to clear the decades-long backlog for family reunification and employment-based migration.</li><li>End the country cap on employment visas that discriminates against immigrants from populous nations.</li><li>Automatically extend work authorization for immigrants stuck in processing delays.</li></ul><h4>How we pay</h4><ul><li>End for-profit immigration detention contracts and border wall surveillance contracts.</li><li>Close tax loopholes for companies that illegally exploit undocumented workers.</li><li>Reinvest asylum backlog and deportation defense funding into community case support.</li></ul>Immigrants are not threats or burdens — they are builders, caregivers, organizers, and entrepreneurs.It’s time our laws treated them with dignity and respect.

In Prince George’s County hundreds of classrooms still lack full-time teachers, and some schools heat with boilers installed when vinyl was new. Guaranteed housing for every veteran<ul><li>End veteran homelessness through a ‘Housing First’ guarantee that provides housing without preconditions.</li><li>Expand the HUD-VASH program and increase funding for transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, and rapid rehousing.</li><li>Prohibit local zoning restrictions that block veteran housing projects.</li></ul>2. Modernize and expand VA health care<ul><li>No more dying in the waiting room. No more privatization schemes.</li><li>Fully fund and staff the VA and stop outsourcing to for-profit systems that delay or deny care.</li><li>Prioritize mental health, substance use treatment, and suicide prevention through dedicated regional VA teams.</li><li>Streamline eligibility and expand automatic enrollment for post-9/11 and Gulf War vets.</li></ul>3. A Real Commitment to Veterans

While Wall Street CEOs walk away with golden parachutes, too many seniors are left with eviction notices, skipped prescriptions, and half-empty plates. That’s not a funding problem — it’s a failure of values. Social Security is a promise, not a piggy bank. But instead of protecting it, politicians keep pushing “reforms” while Big Pharma, greedy landlords, and insurers bleed our elders dry.In Maryland and across the country, too many elders live alone, live poor, or live without the care they deserve.<h4>The Plan</h4>1. Expand Social Security, don’t cut it<ul><li>Increase monthly benefits by at least $200 for all recipients.</li><li>Scrap the earnings cap so millionaires pay into Social Security at the same rate as teachers and truck drivers.</li><li>Tie future benefit increases to the Elder Index, not the broken inflation formula.</li></ul>2. Guarantee long-term care<ul><li>Create a universal long-term care benefit through Medicare to cover home care, assisted living, and nursing care — no matter your income or ZIP code.</li><li>Expand Medicaid funding to eliminate the waiting lists for home and community-based services (HCBS).</li></ul>3. End senior poverty and eviction<ul><li>Create a federal rent cap for low-income seniors tied to Social Security income.</li><li>Automatically enroll eligible seniors in SNAP, utility assistance, and prescription discount programs.</li><li>Fund senior housing, transportation, and community centers in every county with high elder poverty.</li></ul>4.
